Val Wood was born in Castleford and now lives in Beverley, East Yorkshire. She is the the author of The Hungry Tide, winner of the Catherine Cookson prize for fiction. Val has since written 17 novels, including her latest The Harbour Girl (available in hardback and paperback from March 2nd 2012). All previous titles are available in Corgi Paperback.
